Corrections

These pages reproduce public records, and a reproduction can be wrong. If something here is inaccurate we want to know, and we will fix it.

Two different kinds of error

We read the form wrong. Every violation shown here was read off a scanned inspection form and cross-checked against the count the inspector wrote in the form's own summary box. That process is good but not perfect, and records that did not reconcile are labelled as such. If we misread a form, that is our error and we will correct it.

The form itself is wrong. If you believe the inspector recorded something inaccurately, that record belongs to the Town of Greenwich Health Department and only they can amend it. Tell us anyway: we will note the dispute alongside the record while you take it up with the Department, so anyone reading it sees that it is contested.

What happens when you write

  1. We acknowledge your message, normally within two business days.
  2. We pull the original scanned form and compare it against what the page shows.
  3. If the page is wrong, we correct it and note on the record that it was corrected, and when. We do not quietly change things.
  4. If the page matches the form, we tell you so and explain what we compared.

What we won't do

We will not remove an accurate record because it is unflattering, and nobody can pay to have a record altered, delayed, or removed. No food establishment can sponsor this site, for exactly that reason. See the sponsorship policy.

An inspection describes one moment in time, and the most useful thing an establishment can add is context. If you want a short, factual response published alongside your record, send it and we will consider it.
